Today pupils at Manor Park Primary School met with Department of Education Sport and Culture officials interested in pupil’s physical and emotional wellbeing, as the school launched their new online ‘Superstars’ site with Year 6 pupils. It is hoped that this initiative will trigger further interest in pupil wellbeing and provide a tool for schools to use islandwide.
This bespoke online Its Learning platform has been created by the school working collaboratively with ICT specialist Julie Wilsdon and provides an interactive set of pages with information, movies and links to safe webpages, on a variety of aspects that might influence the happiness and wellbeing of pupils as they grow and develop into young adults.
Headteacher Riss Forrester said,
“I think pupils need to be physically and mentally well to be happy, productive learners and hope that the information provided on the Superstars page will support pupils and provide them with appropriate information, support and guidance.”
Superstars provides age appropriate information under the banners of: Body Basics, Fit and Fabulous, Being Safe, Friends and Family, Community and Stay Calm and Feel Good.
