SCHOOL MEALS

School meals are prepared on the premises. Menus are provided for children who can choose either to have a hot meal or, if they prefer, can choose from our very popular salad bar. A vegetarian option is always available.

We strongly recommend these meals to all parents as they not only provide a good, balanced meal but also add greatly to the social cohesion of the school as far fewer pupils choose to bring a packed lunch. A copy of the School Meals Menu can be found on the webpage: School Meals Menu.

Dinner money is paid, in advance.

Lunches are charged at £2.25 per day, £11.25 per week.

Parents should send money in an envelope, labelled with the child’s full name and the amount enclosed. Please make every effort to send the correct money as this simplifies collection and banking. Many parents find it more convenient to pay for meals half-termly, please ask at the school office to arrange this. (Credit is allowed for all uneaten meals where this is due to absence).

If paying by cheque, please make cheques payable to ‘Isle of Man Government’.

Parents in receipt of Supplementary Benefit or Family Income Supplement are eligible for free lunches; application should be made to the Department of Education, Sport and Culture using the online link: Free School Meals Application.

All payments can be made using the red post boxes in school - one at the window to the school office and the other just outside the school office itself.

Packed Lunches

These can be brought, preferably in a purpose made container, clearly marked with the child’s full name, but should not include sweets, nuts or nut products, hot drinks, glass bottles or fizzy drinks.

Please note : School would appreciate one week’s written notice of any change in lunch arrangements.

Alternatively children can go home for lunch provided they can be back in school ready for the afternoon session. You must inform the school if you wish for your child to have their lunch at home.

SNACK

Parents may provide a healthy snack for their children to eat mid-morning. This should be a piece of fruit or a nut-free cereal style bar. Please do not send sweets, chocolate, crisps, fizzy or energy drinks for snack.

You may like to send a plastic bottle / carton of juice for your child to have at snack time. Milk is delivered to the school each day (apart from the first week in September). If you would like your child to have milk, payment is expected in advance before the start of each term. The cost of milk is 19p per day.

Children have access to water at all times and you may like to send a labelled water bottle for your child to refill at the water fountains around the school.
